Pass selected text element as parameter

Hello,

I'm wanting to create a script to convert the text in a selected text box to all caps...I know how to cycle through all TextElements / select an element based on its text value, but I cannot figure out a method which supports selecting a text box with your mouse and then applying the formatting only to the text in that element.

Is this possible? Any ideas?
