I'm running ArcGIS 10.1 and usually use Notepad++ for writing codes or scripts. Now I would like to be able to debug my scripts for ArcGIS as well (so far I always have to use messages printing).
I know that a basic Python Editor is automatically installed and that PythonWin is included on the install CD, but unfortunately I can't just install software on my computer, since I don't have the necessary admin rights.
Hence my questions are:
How can i use the basic Python IDE for debugging (and which program do I have to assign as debugger in the GP options, is it pyhtonw.exe)?
Has anyone had experience with the use of portable software for debugging (i.e. in combination with portable Notepad++)?
